I like to think of these unfinished mini quilt blocks as a form of "painting with fabric." Starting from a stack of fabric scraps, a composition takes shape organically. The final piece is carefully mounted on archival paper, lending it greater depth and texture compared to traditional painting techniques. What sets these works apart is that they are created without a predetermined plan, allowing my mood during the creative process to dictate the outcome. Consequently, each piece possesses its own unique character, whether it's cheerful, moody, subdued, or minimalist, reflecting my emotional state at the time of creation. These works end up being jumping off points for larger works or quilts.
